7 Brew vs Starbucks: Prices, Sizes and Rewards (2026)
On sticker price, a plain latte at the two chains is closer than most people expect. The real gap shows up in how they charge. 7 Brew builds the flavors into the drink price and pours bigger sizes. Starbucks charges for most add-ons, and its cups run smaller. For flavored drinks, 7 Brew usually lands cheaper per cup. For a plain brewed coffee, Starbucks still sells the cheapest cup on either menu.
Price Comparison
| Drink | 7 Brew, medium (estimate) | Starbucks, grande (typical US) |
|---|---|---|
| Caffe Latte | $6.11 | $4.25 to $5.25 |
| Caramel Macchiato | $6.96 | $5.15 to $5.95 |
| Cold Brew | $6.50 | $4.25 to $4.75 |
| Caffe Mocha | $6.11 | $5.25 to $5.95 |
Read the table with sizes in mind. 7 Brew pours run larger than Starbucks pours, so a 7 Brew medium is a lot more drink than a grande, and the per-cup gap is smaller than the sticker gap. Starbucks figures are typical US prices and vary by city. 7 Brew figures are this site’s stand-checked estimates.
Where the Real Difference Shows Up: Add-Ons
At Starbucks, syrup, a milk swap, and an extra shot each add roughly $0.60 to $1.00 to the cup, and a loaded drink can climb fast. At 7 Brew, flavor stacks are the whole point of the menu and are priced into the drink, so a loaded breve and a plain one sit in the same price band. Order plain drinks and the two chains stay close. Order dessert-style drinks and 7 Brew pulls ahead.
Caffeine and Energy Drinks
A grande Starbucks Refresher (typical $4.95 to $5.25) carries about 45 mg of caffeine, a light lift in a fruity cup. A medium Seven Energy costs $8.13 here and brings 105 mg, with a flavor list that runs far longer than the Refresher board. They are different leagues. One is a flavored tea-style drink, the other is a full energy drink.
Rewards
7 Brew gives 100 points for every qualifying drink and a free drink at 1,000 points, so about every tenth drink is on the house, and points last a full year without a purchase. Our rewards program guide walks through the details. Starbucks Rewards runs on stars per dollar, and earned stars expire after six months, so free drinks come slower if your orders are small.
The Trade-Offs
7 Brew is drive-thru only. There is no seating, no wifi, and almost no food case. Starbucks has cafes where you can sit and work, a full food case, and order-ahead in the app nearly everywhere. The 7 Brew app launched in August 2026 and is still rolling out. Neither of those has anything to do with the coffee, and both decide plenty of morning runs.
The Verdict
For flavored, customized, bigger drinks, 7 Brew is the better value. For a plain brewed coffee or a chair and a table, Starbucks still wins. Most people end up using both, and now you know what each cup should cost before you pull in. For the full 7 Brew side of the picture, see the full menu with prices.
